Bonasa bonasia The hazel hen is the smallest in the grouse family. It has a wingspan of about 48-54cm with a brown speckled body and grey top. The hazel hen is found in Scandinavia, Russia, China and Japan and sometimes in other parts of Northern Europe. The hazel hen is a very stationary bird and doesn’t flock in winter like many other grouse-birds. It is usually found on the ground in pine forests and can be hard to spot. The diet consists of sprouts, leaves, insects and larvae. The hazel hen is hunted through stalk hunt and by calling in Lapland, Sweden. The season runs from 25August until 15 November.

At one with the wilderness. The love of nature is the main reason for going hunting. This love, however, also means meeting the wilderness and the elements up-close. In the cold, in the heat and in rough terrain. This is the only way to truly encounter the heart and soul of nature. For this, companions that can master these tough conditions are essential. Ones that can be relied on in every situation. Precisely matched to every individual’s needs, they must face the wilderness up-close and effortlessly deliver peak performance in even the most demanding conditions. The ZEISS brand stands for these qualities.
Why buy an expensive Fallkniven product? It’s correct to put that question. What do you get, actually? Well, first of all you get a lot of knife from the very start, a knife which is strong, comfortable and stays sharp very well or extremely well. And, after some ten or twenty years, it’s time for grinding the knife back to original shape. Ten dollars later, you can continue to use the knife for another ten years, or so. You also get a safe knife, well tested long before it was put into production. As a result, our warranty commitments are as low as 0,1 %.
